For me, it's hard because I know no one will respond to it because no one here knows the fandoms.

Same. All the fandoms that I'm most enthusiastic about are unfortunately ones that have basically no fandom. No discussion anywhere, no fic (or maybe a tiny handful of dubious quality for a canon ship, which is pretty much never my preferred pairing), and if I make a secret here, the only response, if it gets one at all, is someone asking what it is/what it's about.
