Master of the House from Les Miserables.

But not the 2012 film version; they totally ruined it.

To be honest I'm not that fond of Les Miserables but that song kicked ass. (I saw the stage version.)

What did they do to ruin it? I've never seen the movie OR the play, but I've listened to the soundtrack with the original Broadway cast, so I know how it is supposed to sound.

They changed the mood of the music and visuals to something much more openly sinister, like out of a classic black comedy. It was also no longer much of an ensemble song because it left out most of the inn guests as chorus members, so that defeat the purpose of showing that the Thenardiers have good publicity because they pretend to be happy and friendly (just like the song is supposed to sound). Instead it's just the two of them sneaking around everyone's backs as they sing about doing shady things. Just in my opinion, the music wasn't catchy anymore and the whole setup not nearly as funny.
