Re: Is it possible to get a Subway sandwich that actually tastes like somethign?

Yeah, it tastes like bread and lettuce. That's about it.

I ragequit Subway a few years ago because of how scrimpy they are with their veggies. If I said I wanted onions, they'd give me like two of the teeny-tiniest slivers of onion imaginable. If I asked for more, they'd add one little sliver. Ridiculous. Sliced black olives? You're lucky if you get 5 on a 6-inch. And their meat, my god, you can see through it. It's so thin you can't even taste meat, just preservatives. What fucking cheapskates. I'll buy ingredients and make my own!

This is really the best option for those of us who don't have proper delis or sub places. Even a "baguette" or Italian loaf from the grocery store's bakery section is usually as tasty as Subway's bread, and you can use better quality cold cuts. Or not, because it's not like Subway is using high quality stuff, either. Just get some ham, bologna, salami/pepperoni and a bottle of Italian dressing. Fistful of lettuce and some sliced onions and you're building a better sandwich than Subway.

Same here. I used to go more often, way back before they began the whole $5 for a footlong promotion. I stopped because when I asked for olives, they gave me FOUR SLICES OF OLIVE. Like the person behind the counter literally doled them out one by one and that's barely even one whole olive for the entire sub, you cheapskates. Even the convenience factor wasn't worth it anymore, not at the price they were charging.
