What, exactly, are you expecting from Subway? It's sandwiches, not fine dining.

Ingredients

Okay. What ingredients are you not getting? Where I live, they will pile your sub with as many vegetables as will fit on your sub. Do they not do that where you are?

Hell no. On a 6-inch, you might get 3 spinach leaves. A quarter a slice of onion. Two tiny green pepper rings. You have to beg for more, and then they act put out with you and passive aggressively add an even smaller amount.

Like an anon mentioned above, fresh vegetables are expensive.

My issue with Subway is 100% their cheapness, and this is standard at every Subway I've ever been to.

Maybe you should go to a different region and try a Subway there. I've been to plenty of Subways in different cities and maybe once in a while I'll encounter a clueless or stingy employee.

Today I got about 10-12 spinach leaves on my sub, and I didn't have to ask for that.

I'm literally cackling at the idea of taking a road trip to go to a Subway.

Why would you take a road trip just to go to a Subway?

I am one of the anons above who said veggies are expensive. That's why Subway is so great. They PILE the veggies on. I've only ever had one experience with a Subway worker who was stingy with the vegetables and even he put on more veg than you're describing.

DA but also, in my experience, it's not just about quantity - the quality of the ingredients is also pretty poor

It can be sometimes. I've hit the same store at different times of the day (like night time on a Monday, and then lunchtime on a Wednesday of the following week), and it was obvious when their ingredients were fresh, and when they weren't.

I've only ever had good, fresh-tasting ingredients from the Subways I've been to. I mean, the veggies aren't, like, Whole Foods level (i.e. plant-based perfection), but they're easily on par with the quality of vegetables from any decent grocery store.

(Actually, I'm not going to disagree about there being better sandwiches elsewhere, because I'll eat at Firehouse and Which Wich, but I never implied Subway was better than everyone else in the first place. I'm just saying OP's complaint just comes off as weird.)

Fucking Which Wich yessssss. They do not exist where I am, my NorCal friend introduced me and then they fucking closed the one in her town. RARR. I NEEDED MY YEARLY WHICH WICH!

This is an agree to disagree thing for me. Of all the sub sandwich chains I've tried, Subway has been the best.

Um, not around here? We have fast food (including Subway), and pizza, and some local stuff. But if what you truly want is a sub sandwich where I am at, it's buy all your own stuff and make it at home, or it's Subway.

IMO Subway is probably still worse than any other fast-food sandwich chain (at least any of the ones that I've tried). Even pizza-place sandwiches are usually better. but I guess taste is just one of those things.

.......i'm never buying a sandwich from a pizza place, are you kidding? The pizza sucks, i can't begin to imagine how gross a Pizza Hut *sandwich* would be.

And i just said there *is* no other ff sandwich place, unless you're putting places that make burgers into that category? Because you can't get a sub from Wendy's or McD's or Arbys.....

Well, you said you had fast food, so I was talking about other fast-food sandwich options. I apologize if I was confused. (And Domino's and Pizza Hut don't have good sandwiches but local pizza places often do IME, and again I wasn't clear on what you had in mind)

Oh, yeah, no - just burger places and pizza. So gross.
