Anything you want to talk about that's going on with you lately

I had commented on a thread here a couple days ago about this guy I went out with that I hadn't heard from and I was upset about it. Heard from him yesterday, turns out he was delayed getting home a few days and didn't contact me before because he was too busy frantically trying to catch up with the work and classes he missed on account of the delay. Also he promised to get my Hamilton soundtrack back to me soon. So he didnt forget about me after all and I was whiny for nothing lol. Thanks to those who were commiserating anyway though.

Such a baffling, baffling movie. Catwoman has such potential to be an absolutely fantastic lead for a superhero movie, but I'm pretty sure whoever made the Halle Berry version had no idea what a comic was.

I am hoping to feel well enough to get back to work on my cosplays tomorrow. I'm sewing two really big plushes as props and they're turning out much better than expected, so I'm excited about getting them finished. I need more toy stuffing and embroidery thread so might work on another piece until I'm well enough to leave the house.

What are the plushes? Mascot characters?

They anime I'm cosplaying from has a species of mushroom called chicken matangos which are giant and have grumpy faces. I thought they were super cute and making them to scale to use as props in a shoot.

Busy, busy, busy. Got my niece dropped off at the airport so that was good! And actually got rid of some shirts. Thought about making banana bread muffins for work but I am feeling lazy.

I dunno . depends on how much your work needs you.

I haven't been fired for leaving early a few too many times because of IBS and a mild bug.

In the US, there are states where you can be fired for any reason. I dunno about the UK.

Do you have an employee handbook? Check it and see. Or if your company has an employee section of their website maybe check that.

I'm not sure how it is in the UK, but here in the USA you most definitely can.

Well for one my schedule is loaded up for the next three days. The exact same days when I have my period ;.;. I'm honestly thinking of looking for a nice office job and waiting for Profit Share checks to go out before I jump ship, unless I manage to get back to front end. I feel bad because I know they need deli clerks but honestly most of the time I feel like I'm pulling myself through the job to get to days off and paychecks. That's not good. I like Harris Teeter but I also gotta think of what's best for me. I won't do anything unless I know I'm guaranteed another job of course.

Also I'm sort of.... attempting to do a webcomic. (msdarlysinncomic.tumblr.com)and I'm not sure I'm very good at it right now... but I really want to be. I think my goal for the next two months is to build a buffer of comics so I can just slap one up every...I dunno Wednesday.

I'm busy with work. I'm also making a gift pic for qt3.14. I haven't mentioned it to her yet because my track record with finishing pics is not great. But it's Deadpool in drag, in a look I've dubbed Fishy Trixie Mattel.

It's all based on a convo we had, and bc Trixie and DP are two of her favorite people/characters/things. She's been devouring the comicbooks and bemoaning the lack of queer stuff so I'm going to provide haha

I'm moving in a week to go to law school on the other side of the country, which is great! But nobody turned up to my leaving party, which sucked :(

A couple weeks ago I went to the doctor for a non-weight related reason and found out my BMI is now 29.5, and not because I’m a musclebound hulk. I don’t normally do New Years resolutions, but I decided to aim for the 10,000 steps a day thing this year. I’d already decided not to buy junk and make as much food as I can from scratch, but that was more of a money thing, since I can make plenty of fattening sugary treats. I had a few days of not walking to make up for, so I’ve been doing anything from 5-9 miles of walking a day.

I wish I liked other kinds of exercise more. But at least sometimes there’s cool stuff to look at. I walked the long way to my weekend job today, on the beach and along the road overlooking the ocean and through the uber rich neighborhood. I felt like an intruder, but it was fun gawking at all the fancy mansions. And I’ve done 6.8 miles so far today and finally made my yearly (also monthly since it’s still January) average top 10k steps. After I feed my critters, I may walk down to the boardwalk so I can have a big fattening burrito or something after work tomorrow.

My nephew just found out yesterday that he was supposed to report to North Carolina today, instead of Key West, Florida. But the Navy had already shipped his things (including all but one of his uniforms) to Key West.

Also he doesn't know when he'll get paid, because of the government shutdown.
