I have to be in a very specific mood to watch anything with him in it. I've worked in too many restaurants where I had to be on the receiving end of some very petty criticisms and made to do stuff like keep working after hot oil popped on my foot and gave me second degree burns with no first aid, etc.

From what I've heard of professional kitchens, that sounds typical. The whole working through injury thing, which I think is dumb. I feel the same way about athletes "playing through the pain". Hello, pain is your body's way of telling you that you need to stop and take care of this, a football game or getting someone's strip steak out on time is NOT more important.
