I wish there was a company that made bagels without holes that I could buy in a regular store. I love everything about bagels except for the stupid hole that makes spreading cream cheese harder than it should be.

Lockers in malls and stores where you could lock stuff up while you shop. I go places on my bike but it's really annoying to carry my helmet everywhere, or not to be able to do two errands because I'd have to carry the stuff from the first store into the second store.

...But those things exist? Or at least, they used to. Maybe malls got rid of them for fear of a bomb or something. Come to think of it, I've never noticed whether my local mall had lockers. I'm pretty sure the Mall of America did last time I was back in Minnesota.

They used to have them in our malls, and were handy, but they are no longer there. As you mentioned, there is the potential for bombs, but I seem to recall that they were widely used as drop points in illegal drug trading.

So that's why we can't have nice things.

I've never seen them around here, except in front of my college bookstore, because they wouldn't let you wear a backpack in so they gave you somewhere to put it. It could be I'm not looking hard enough. Also I live in Los Angeles and it's very much a car culture here so that may be part of it.

Yeah, the biggest of the malls where I live has lockers. Oddly, I never think to use them, but they're definitely there. Not sure about any of the other malls in the city, though.

Yeah, I take public transit and walk everywhere, and it would be nice not to have to have employees assume I’m stealing because I’m carrying a full shopping bag around, which is especially annoying when what I bought is store brand from a different store so I literally couldn’t have stolen it from the second store. I make sure to keep receipts in case I run into someone who thinks I magically switched the logo or whatever.

A lot of malls have them, often at the customer service desk area. At least in the midwest, south, east, etc. (I visit a lot of malls while I travel haha)

Some nicer small stores (like clothing boutiques) also will let you leave your stuff somewhere safe while you shop, like under the front counter.

I just wish San Antonio had good bagels. We've yet to find a place here that has actually good ones.

Affordable virtual reality. And that actually lets you immerse yourself in a fictional world.

Ordering fanfic/original fic to your taste. Like from a vending machine or something.

Oh my god, that would be AMAZING. I'm not much of a fic writer, but I still think like a writer, which means that when I come up with an idea for a fic, it's not just a general idea, it's very specific and detailed and my craving for that fic will not be satisfied by just any old fic that bears a passing resemblance to said fic. So basically, I'm doomed to never have the fic I want, because I'm too much of a chickenshit to write it myself and obviously none of my favorite fic authors are going to come up to me and say "Please share with me your very specific idea for a fic and I will try to write it to your exact specifications."

Oh man, this would be the best. :o

Oreos without the filling. I make the Smitten Kitchen knock-off Oreo recipe without the filling, but it's just not the same. Famous Amos is probably the same cookie (I haven't tasted them in a long time, though), but those are really expensive in comparison to Oreos and too thin and delicate to pack for an outdoor lunch.

Non-prescription sunglasses that use whatever kind of extra-durable poly-carbonate lens stuff you can get for prescription glasses. Why am I paying so much money for fancy sunglasses that can scratch?
