I'm a little weirded out at the concept of getting angry at SJWs for doing something they might not even have actually done

Guess that's a thing now. People come here to preemptively complain about a fight they're anticipating that someone else, a hivemind entity they've built up into a boogeyman, will start, which hasn't actually happened and may never. I think people afraid of being harassed by SJWs *sometimes* overestimate the number of people who listen when they talk.

The wiki says 5 years, which may be the case in the photo, it's hard to tell from cartoon art. I don't really buy that unless Mercy was on a fast-track equivalent of Doogie Howser.

That particular photo was considered to be retcon'd because it was done before the canon re: Mercy's age and whatnot was set in stone

Blizzard's timeline of Overwatch lore is really bad in general (one of the first official art pieces shows the original Overwatch group pre-separation with Tracer part of them and Ana, Jack, and Gabe looking way too young imo to be as old as they are), but Mercy has never been 20 years older than Pharah. Michael Chu's said it time and time again, even before this photo was released.

Yeah...their timeline us confusing. So how many years exactly went by between the dismantling & where we are now? Jack is what, 60? And yet...so it's about 25 to 30 years...ugh.

Because Mercy isn't 20 years older than Pharah???? Where the hell are people getting this info from? If you look at their canon ages, Pharah is 12 or something here with Mercy being 17 according to Michael Chu. Which seems plausible to me.

I swear to god, not even a pharmercy fan, but this particular issue is so common and yet so fucking stupid. The official website has their ages right THERE! Literally right under the story tab in each hero profile. People can't be assed to fact-check and then go around spouting dumb ass bullshit like this.

They're FIVE years apart in age. Hell, Mercy was actually supposed to be YOUNGER in canon if there hadn't been a slip up during the Recall trailer that meant the devs had to go back and age her up a bit. She went from 34 to 37.

They only have like 5 years of age difference, but people still consider that problematic. I'm not even in OW fandom and I know there are anti-Pharmercy people who think that age gap is problematic because Mercy first met Pharah when Pharah was still a kid, and ignore the fact that they're both adults in current canon.

Age gap wank is a huge, stupid issue with the Overwatch fandom in general. I've seen Roadrat get trashed because a 25 year old man is with a 40 year old (I've even seen absurd reaches like some insisting Junkrat is too young to make a decision like that, like he's not at the age where the brain has reached full development). Same goes for Genyatta because Zenyatta is 20 while Genji is 35, which is just downright silly considering the former is a fucking robot.

lmao 25 and he can't make decisions of that nature? OKAY. Thus is the kind of thing that makes me believe I'm reading fic written by kids. Also, some of the fic I've happened upon follows some weird Character A & B acting like they're fucking children when they're about to interact in a non sexual manner. etc.


I'm just glad I look for fic and don't participate in larger fandom/discussions. I like age gaps, and OW has got it. I am not party to the hate. Everybody in OW is grown. lol at this nonsense.

I'm far and beyond tired of ppl complaining about age gaps in this fandom. I haven't seen anyone complain yet about Pharmercy but like, it's only 5 years. I've only seen fluff between the characters at this age. Fanon ships them later on when they're adults. Enough about age gaps between adults!
