I love Tokidoki stuff, though my purchases start and stop at calendars because the rest is a bit too expensive for me.

I say, as someone who buys funko products.

I'm crying because I don't ever by Funko figurines but oh my god they're releasing 'sexy' Ian Malcolm but it's a Target exclusive and goddammit Target doesn't exist in Ontario. T^T

I want ooooone.

:( I know how you feel, Asia (I'm not 100% sure WHERE in Asia) has like...eight Kung Fu Panda exclusive variants that I can't get in the states, but I admit it's a lot easier to get most of the pops here.

I'd trade you Malcom for Chase Aurora.

Selling online isn't really that big a deal (though I don't know where you're from, and I'm going by my own Ebay experiences), but do you live anywhere near a senior center? Or a school or after-school place for kids and adults with cognitive disabilities?

Because I can see those bright, fairly sturdy-looking little creatures going over well there.

Or - you could leave them tucked into a corner in the library, or a laundromat, or a doctor's office..... Good luck!

I never have the courage to buy blind boxes even when like 9/10 is something I would want and the 1/10 is something I won't hate. I also don't have that much money to spend so when I do buy something I want to know exactly what I get even if it's boring and blind boxes sound more fun. :\

But that idea sounds awesome! Maybe leave a little note with it to make sure whoever finds it knows it's a gift and not something someone forgot. Around schools and libraries maybe? Like on a table in a library or local bookshop.

I was thinking of taking some very thin ribbon and writing, "If you find me, I'm yours" on it and tying it around the toy.

I'm also considering writing "Make a Wish On Me" on the other side of the ribbon but I don't know if I should fib about having those kinds of powers.

Oh! Maybe I should put a bunch of those cheesy but lovable affirmations on them, sort of like you'd find in a fortune cookie. You know, "You are surrounded by good energy" or "The wise man knows he is still a child".

...I need to go find paper and pencil.

I don't even like fortune cookies but everything about this sounds cute. Just the idea of it brightened up my day, can't imagine it doing any less for the person actually finding such a thing tied around another cute thing. :D

this is so cute and I hope you find ways to brighten other people's days with free toys

You sound so sweet, OP!

I've never seen these before but they are very cute and the idea is very sweet as well.

(Anonymous) 2018-01-27 04:07 am (UTC)(link)
I love this idea! As to where to leave them...

On a shelf in a library
In a tree at a park
Next to a fountain
Somewhere in a museum or art gallery

Perhaps you could leave a note on them, and make it something like this:

I think your idea is great OP, but if you want another alternative and you're the least bit crafty you could customize 'em. Look up Dollightful on youtube, she has I think two videos of customizing unicornos if you want examples.

Turn them into travel bugs! It's like a travelling geocache thing. You buy a travel bug dog tag (which has a tracking number on it), attach it to the toy and then create an entry for it on the geocaching site, pop it in a geocache near you and then track it as it travels around the world.

I love them, but no Money means I'm sticking to owning one.

So I'm sure they'll be loved being found.

Libraries would be great, and also any community parks. Basically anywhere people without a lot of money would bring kids to.

Giving away extra whatevers is a great way to meet people in the fandom!
