I only vaguely remember the movie, so I'm trying to remember what was so terrible about it that it would horridly offend liberal sensibilities.

I mean, wasn't it a typical 'presidential hostage' action movie?

I've been trying to figure that out, too.

I guess there's a certain amount of jingoism. And there is a bit of glorifying the military. Maybe it's the assumption that the US is in the right? I suppose it could be the extreme prejudice with which he eliminates the terrorist, rather than just capturing them.
