Controversial ships

What are the controversial ships in your fandom? Why are they controversial? Do you ship it or no? Why?

Tolkien fandom doesn't seem to have any controversial ships. We mostly ship and let ship.

Star Wars fandom, for some reason Rey/Kylo is really controversial. I don't ship, but I don't hate it either.

Likely because a lot of people either don't like Rey or Kylo or both. Also some may not like it because of any possiblity that they maybe related to each other.

I think ppl were expecting Rey/Finn (and I can see that), and we're upset when Reylo seemed to happen instead. But labelling Reylo shippers as racists is fucking ridiculous, imo.

The het ones.

I dunno... because they're heteronormative?

Yes!

Because I enjoy gender polarity.

It seems like every couple of months someone pops up into the Hades and/or Persephone tags with a "if you ship this you're a bad person!" type post like they're the first person to figure out that Hades/Persephone has some problematic elements.

This made me laugh too hard.

I ship an incest ship in my fandom so that's pretty controversial right there. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
