For anyone with an IUD, have the caused you any pain? The one birth control my doctor wanted to try is going to cost 1200 outside of insurance, which I can't afford. So my only other option is an IUD. Don't really know anything about them, though. Do they reduce cramps? And what kind is best?

$1200???? is there a reason it costs so much? Like other health concerns??

It has to come from a special pharmacy, it is the kind that puts you into temporary menopause. So I guess it just costs more than regular birth control. I've pretty much tried everything. I've been on the regular depo shots for a year, and they aren't working anymore either.

Are you specifically looking for something to sotp your period?

If that's what it takes. I just want the pain to stop. I get super intense cramps, often when I'm not even bleeding. Pain to the level where I can't function and where OTC meds don't even touch it.

My last period lasted 3 and a half weeks. And I spent quite a few days doubled over on my bathroom floor or curled up on my bed, incapable of doing anything.

Has your doctor even used the word endometriosis? Because if I were your physician, I'd be screening for that already. You may benefit from laparoscopic surgery to remove tissue.

Already had that surgery, isn't that. There is nothing physically wrong with any of my parts. The only suggestion my doctor has is that it might be something about my hormones.

Honestly I'm just glad this doctor is listening to me. And is sending me to a pain specialist. My previous doctor basically didn't believe me. She reluctantly did the surgery, but she didn't believe that my pain is as bad as I said it is. And it took a lot of pushing to even convince her to switch me to the shot even though the pills weren't helping at all.
