Reclaiming kink meme fills

(Anonymous) 2018-01-27 10:32 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm revisiting an old kink meme and realising there's work I wrote anonymously years ago there, that I'd actually really like to claim and put under my current pseud. Is that a weird thing to do? I guess I'm paranoid people will think I'm just picking random fics and claiming credit for them, but they're definitely mine.

Do you ever repost anonymous fills un-anon? Why or why not?

I don't think it's weird. If I saw a fic like that posted, I'd assume the writer was being honest about it being their work.

I did. I think it's totally legit if you want to own up to your work. I guess there's always the potential that someone could accuse you of stealing it, but if you post other things and it's pretty similar to your writing style, oh well. Especially since it's an old kink meme, I doubt anyone would make a fuss.

Not really. I doubt many people would be that invested in posting old post fills instead of say more popular and newer fic and it should match your writing style as you wrote it.

Not weird at all!

I don't think it's weird. People re-post old fic all the time and the fact that you wrote the fills anon doesn't make it different in my mind (it's no different than re-posting fic written under a different screen name).

You could add a note saying you wrote the fic years ago for a kink meme. I would never assume an author is lying about that and I don't think most people would.

Personally, I'd appreciate it if people put more smut where it's easy to find! ;)

I've seen a lot of people do this, so I wouldn't think it was weird. Usually they put something like "originally written for x kink-meme" in the AN along with a link to the original post.

I don't think it's weird. But then again I made sure to post all of my kink meme fills on AO3.
