I can just think of way too many reasons why it would suck.

Like, we had a..... pharmercy???? secret recently (idk the Overwatch characters) that was tlaking about the pairing like it was an age gap thing or something. Imagine if that OP had a tumblr, and some Anti reported them to the Overwatch mods bc they "posted stuff in support of pedophilia". MAYBE the mods will look for proof, but they get hundreds or thousands of cases to review each day, so most of the time they're probably going to ban first and ask questions later.

Or what if some player runs a discourse blog or posts in some social justice subreddit and the Overwatch Comment Bots get tripped because that player is talking about slurs or something stupid. I would be pretty pissed if I got banned from a game I paid a lot of money for bc I was talking about being a fag, you know?

And that's not even touching on the fact that it would give them grounds to ban players based on shit like political affiliation. I don't want people getting banned for being queer or pro-choice. I also don't want alt-right douchebags getting banned and feeding the flames of their discrimination delusions.

Bots are stupid. I mean, I once got temp banned from a game because I typo'd "account" as "accunt". And mods have enough shit to deal with without trying to police the whole goddamn internet.

The Overwatch team already gets tons and tons of reports in-game, and they tend to err on the side of caution when it comes to suspensions (very few people end up banned, just suspended).

They wouldn't be hunting down tumblrs for their problematic ships or reddit comments about being pro-life, they're looking for twitch streams and youtube videos/comments where players outright attack/spam/spew hateful drivel at one another. You're going way overboard with this slippery slope you've imagined.
