That really makes no sense since there are plenty of Disney movies with a female lead. Both boys and girls grew up watching things like Snow White, Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella, the The Aristocats, Lady and the Tramp, Alice in Wonderland, etc.

Um, no, I'm not a troll, but thanks for kind of undermining my opinion. Why would I watch an anime that I'll only get hooked on around the end, anyway? If I can't sit through the beginning, why would I care?

I think if you're not consciously thinking of it in a sexist way, it's not sexism? Like, it's still bad, and I totally know what you mean, but I also think that like, um. Like going "Oh I am making a character and they are a male like always" is not as bad as "Oh I am making a character and they are a male because females are weak and stupid."

Um! But I'm not trying to argue; just share my thoughts. I know what you mean and basically agree? I just don't much care about things like that, so my argument for either side is half-hearted.

Boys' parents are more likely to buy toys. I'm not saying it's right to market films and toys mostly to boys, or that girls don't play with toys (I wanted He-Man action figures as a little girl, did I get them, NO). I'm saying that these people study trends and do whatever makes them the most money.
