I find them to be pieces of badly written tripe whose only redeeming factor lies in the fact that they got children to read (which is a small redeeming factor, really, considering there are so much better series they could read instead.). I think the time I spent reading them in the first place was time absolutely wasted, and I mentally kick myself for it every time I see a copy of one of the books lying around.
The books from your icon, however, are lovely.
