104. You're right, but it's a harmless bit of fanon that seems consistent with the idea that he's more fucked up from the war than first appearances would let on. You can make his character work with or without it.

109. Wow. I watched two episodes and was absolutely hooked. Who knew that different people enjoy different things?

124. I don't think that term means what you think it does, OP. The fact that he is mildly insane, has dependency issues like WOAH, is easily manipulated, and is reviled by the person he holds dear, all pretty much mean that he's about as far from a Stu as you can get.

137. DO IT! You and I think the same way, and that fic would make me very happy. (Not 'happy' happy, but ZOMG-this-is-amazingly-fucked-up happy.) I have actually developed a great deal of my perception of Tsuna's character based on this very fact, and I think it gives his low self-esteem, and his need for affirmation, an even greater level of severity. Essentially, I believe that Tsuna is aware on some level that his mother doesn't really see him, but rather 'Iemitsu's son'. All of her affection for him is derived from the resemblance he bears to his father, not because of his individuality. She doesn't seem to have much interest in his life beyond the most basic of concerns (his grades, keeping him fed etc.), and any deeper issues simply don't register on her radar (it's used for comedic effect, of course, but it's quite disturbing when I take the time to think about it). I believe that his attraction to Kyoko comes from a desire to have his mother love him as the individual that he is; he can't get that validation from his mother, so he's seeking it from Kyoko instead--a person who resembles his mother in both appearance and personality.

Yeah, I'm probably over analyzing; but I think it puts a lot of things in perspective. :)

Yes, but it just bothers me that they think Itsuki's a girl...

Me too, but, to be fair, his character design is pretty girly. I guess it just shows that they haven't even watched a single episode with him in it.

104 OP

You're right, it is harmless, and I do still enjoy what it can do for a story, I only wanted to point out that it wasn't actually canon.

137 OP

You seriously have no idea how happy your over-analysis makes me, truth.

I mean, I was just going to go off about the lack of a father-figure in his life has caused Tsuna to value more feminine virtues (he's very kind and sweet, every slashfic ever makes him a raging uke), typified in the ideal of his mother. Of course this is very unbalanced, so along comes Reborn (who, depite being initially made non-threatening by his baby state - a state in which you could throw him under the blanket of 'women and children', is VERY much the masculine father/mentor figure) with his Dying Will bullets (insert penetration joke here) that force out a more masculine, aggressive version of Tsuna.

Essentially Tsuna tends to regard his more feminine aspect as weak and unable to do anything - he needs his mentor figure, Reborn, to influence him into his aggressive masculine state so he can take control of his surroundings. In his feminine state he's weak, a pussy, but in Dying Will mode he does things like save Haru from drowning (the initial incident that made her fall in love with him) and really met Kyoko for the first time, actually talking to her for once. Really, he's trying to reject the feminine aspect within himself in order to be desirable to the ultimate personification of his mother/the feminine....

asdgkhf blah blah blah Freud gender studies yah. :P BUT YOU ROCK ANON. I don't think I can stop myself from writing fic now...
