how are they bringing him back now?

I have to respectfully disagree with you. While I think Matt Letscher was a very good Reverse Flash I, and others, enjoy Tom's version more. It feels silly to have to say that but : it's an opinion not a fact. Same goes for you. Matt's acting as Professor Zoom isn't objectively better than Tom's (and vice-versa), you just like it better. I also think that the writting and the directing must be taking into account. Maybe if Matt had played the Reverse Flash in the same episodes as Tom's (same scenario, same stage direction, etc.) I would have liked his version better. Who knows ?

Also, I don't believe it's ever okay to police people's headcanons. Some of those that headcanon Eobard as autistic (and from what I've read, they often make quite a compelling argument, imho) are autistics themselves. Even if you are autistic yourself, you can't, nor should you, control what they see in the character, including autistic traits they recognize from experience. If you're not ... I'm going to be a bit more harsh here : you don't really have a say (and as an autist person I dislike the potential implications of what you're writting : that somehow being autistic could be insulting to the character). Even if you don't share this headcanon, why do you think it's a bad thing that others do ?

On the bright side (for you), in the DC tv universe there's always a chance that Matt could wore his yellow suit one day. Hell, both Matt and Tom could play the Reverse Flash at the same time (maybe in the same scenes too).

The second half of your argument is grade A bullshit. You don’t have the “right” to post any fandom opinion in a public space and have it automatically accepted without criticism. If your “headcanon” is so precious to you that any rejection of it is unthinkable, then keep it off public spaces where other people can see and discuss it. And frankly, it’s beyond disgusting that you think autistic adults have to be babied like this. We, like everyone else, are mature enough to understand the difference between an opinion and a fact. If you’re not, then my opinion is that you need to take a break from fandom until you grow up a lot.

Except how anon wasnt saying that rejection of that headcanon was "unthinkable"? all they were saying is that not having it isnt a reason to shit on other people having it. There's only a handful of headcanon traits that one could give someone that could justify other people turning on that headcanon, and "this character has autism" isn't one of them.

Thank you !

I never said that you couldn't disagree with that headcanon, I don't even know if I share it myself. What I meant is that it's not okay to prevent other people to have their headcanons when they're not doing any harms and that's it's something that they find happiness in. Of course, I completely agree that you can argue against their headcanon but not straight up forbidden them to have it in the first place. I was pointing out the fact that OP formulate it as an order "Stop doing that thing that I don't like".

I asked the OP to explain why they were so against people headcanoning Eobard as autistic in case I've missed something and it was indeed doing some harm that I was unaware of. In which case I was ready to reconsider my position somewhat. And I'm autist (and, yes, in case there's anyone that want to start the usual wank, I have been officially diagnosed).

I apologize if my first answer was unclear, it was very very late (or very early) and I'm not a native English speaker.

And again, thank to the previous anon, hope you have a great week !
