Movies

What have you seen recently?

Re: Movies

(Anonymous) 2018-02-02 12:15 am (UTC)(link)
Been watching a bunch of fantasy stuff I haven't seen before. Chronicles of Riddick (fun), Prince of Persia (couldn't get past the casting), both Clash of the Titans movies (original is a classic, new one is terrible), Legend (how have I not seen this before?), and Krull (cheesy fun).

I've got some more stuff to watch. I've just been in the mood to watch new things I haven't seen before, even if they end up being completely terrible.

Chronicles of Riddick is great. I haven't seen the original Clash of the Titans but I saw the remake and the sequel to the remake and I liked both.

Where did you watch Krull? I've been meaning to watch it for a podcast.

Re: Krull. Saw it way back when, and then when I saw it again, I realized Liam Neeson was in it. LOL! It is not great, but it is cheesy fun.

I really liked that. I think I've seen something else since but maybe it wasn't memorable because I don't remember. It will drive me nuts now.

Re: Movies - Lego Batman Movie

(Anonymous) 2018-02-02 12:19 am (UTC)(link)
I liked it. It wasn't as good as the Lego Movie but it was still a lot of fun. I bought 3 sets prior to seeing the movie because the sets were cute and on sale, and I'm a big Lego fan. Now that I've seen the movie, I want all the sets, which isn't possible because Lego made a TON of them. I wonder if this is the most number of sets they've made for a movie.

I watched The Void recently because people kept raving about how it was a great horror movie. I hated it. The entire plot was just so silly and the acting was pretty meh.

Re: Movies

(Anonymous) 2018-02-02 02:04 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah It was recommended to me and I was just like, "Okay?" by the end. Mediocre acting, and I finished with still no real idea of what the plot was about.

3 billboards in Ebbing, Missouri. That was some dark humor...

I didn't see very many movies this January actually. Only saw two: Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle and Cardcaptor Sakura: The Sealed Card. Loved both of them.

The last movie I watched in the cinema was Thor: Ragnarok.

And the last movie I watched on TV/Netflix was Bright and The Force Awakens before I went to see TLJ.

For upcoming movies I'm waiting for Black Panther an hoping I can find a cinema that's playing The Shape of Water.

I saw Cardcaptor Sakura: The Sealed Card last night. I remember my dad renting the movie from Blockbuster when I was a kid and I made him watch it a million times. It was just as cute as I remember it being.

Saw the third/last Maze Runner movie in the theater. Fun popcorn stuff, and yay, Dylan O'Brian doesn't have brain damage, so - that was nice.

Went and saw the new Star War with my husband, he's a big fan, me not so much. I thought it was a cheese-fest but a fun cheese-fest, and came out actually shipping the main female character with the new bad guy (I have since learned that is A Problematic Ship, lol). Looking forward to the next installment, if only to see how said Problematic Ship fares.

OH AND.
Recently watched 'Dunkirk'. Really, really liked it, it was totally not what I expected. AND - it was *so beautiful*. So many scenes from it were like oil paintings on the screen. Truly amazing.

I saw Coco tonight. I was absolutely floored. Such a beautiful film, and the music will be stuck in my head all day at work tomorrow.
