Someone was telling me about a house they saw (looking at houses for sale) that had a bathroom attached to the bedroom, and there was NO DOOR on the bathroom. WTF?

I mean... I'm comfortable enough around my family and close friends to use the toilet in front of them. But it's not like it's normal to stare intently at someone while they take a shit.

Have done it before in front of two different people. Once when my friend was being weird and wouldn't stop talking to me and leave the stall, even after I said I'ma poop now, and the other time was when I had a virus and a family member was pretty much holding me on the toilet while I shat and dry heaved into a bucket at the same time.

a friend of mine was housesitting (in an apartment) and a couple had a tiny half-bathroom built in the master bedroom with NO DOOR!

Lord no. My husband always tries to get in to talk to me about the budget or something stupid when he knows I'm shitting and it drives me insane. Thank GOD for the lock on the door.

I guess if it as an emergency, but honestly I have trouble if there's a mirror and I can see myself. (And why, in the name of all that's unholy, would you position a mirror like that to begin with?)

My mother doesn't have much of a sense of privacy, and has always acted like being in the bathroom with another person is normal. So for me it's pretty normal to poop with her in the room. And while I've never pooped with anyone else in the room, I also don't really give a fuck if they don't give a fuck.

But then pooping takes me about a minute from pants down to pants up, so it's not like I'm ever sitting there straining for long minutes or anything.

When I have to go, I have to go. It's not my fault if other people want to stay in the room while I'm pooping.

About that house - I've been househunting for a while, and the combined bedroom/bathroom with no doors keeps popping up, even in so-called luxury homes. Seems like there's a trend of open plan living that extends to more than just kitchen/living room.
