Ugh, agreed about Boondock Saints, that was so fucking gross in a movie I would've otherwise enjoyed. It didn't even serve a purpose except to be dark humor, which made it even more offensive to me.

Anchorman was kind of funny because the dog was just a stuffed animal for that scene, and the dog survived and came back to save the day. (spoilers I guess since you didn't get that far lol) That was definitely "animal abuse" scenes in a comedy done right.
