Hey, some of us don't like headcanons like this because they are used to woobify asshole characters.

And for the vocal minority of assholes who make excuses there's a couple of us silently trying to get by and go about their life.

I don't know if you're the same as certain anons who come around here when the topic comes up but but please knock off the "all those manipulative awful autistic people try to make excuses and get away with stuff"

God this is why I hate secrets relating to autistic headcanons and the topic of autism because of shit like this. It attracts all the trashy fucks who take it as an excuse to throw every autistic person under the bus and trash us.

I usually ignore autism related secrets, but given the current "uwu we can't help being literal-minded social troglodytes you nasty allistics*" - which I have _actually seen, okay_, just paraphrased - for excusing all kinds of asshole behavior going around, seeing "autism + Snape" being put forth as a Serious Headcanon was more than I could really stand.

* "Allistic" sounds like something some new-ager on Tumblr made up for Cool Points(TM). I've literally never heard of any psychologist or psychiatrist using the term clinically.

Tumblr is its own bed of crazy and they say a lot of things I can't really stand either but somehow I don't generalize about whole groups of people who share a trait they can't help.

If you talked to autistic people outside the tumblr web of enabling (yes tumblr enables the worst aspects of many mental/developmental conditions. I knew someone who had borderline and tumblr brought out the worst in them and I still lose sleep at night about what they could do) you'd probably find there's many decent autistic people who just want to live their lives.

Honestly I see so many people with this attitude some even dehumanizing all people like me and my closest friends (I have been in plenty of special programs since I was a child to help me with my problems), that I don't bother being nice about it. who use terms like your 'social trogladytes" to talk about us like scheming nefarious gremlins instead of actual people with our own problems and issues. and I see so many struggling autistic people who have been bullied and harassed to depression and thinking nothing of themselves-which is a heartbreaking thing to watch and I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemies.

I can't control or speak for the people who decide to be assholes under the guise of autism, and I seriously disapprove of people being assholes in general. But that has NEVER been an excuse to generalize whole groups of people.

Tumblr is a hot bed of stupid fuckery. Judging an entire group of people based on how the worst of tumblr acts is like judging all Millennials for the whopping five teenagers who decided that eating Tide Pods was a good idea. It's bullshit and it doesn't work. It takes a serious lack of imagination and understanding of the human race to even assume that it does.

You and ayrt seem to be saying the same damn thing except they’re being aggressive and you’re being defensive. You’re both sick of enablers on tumblr pegging every woobie asshole in fandom as autistic and using that as justification for asshole behavior.
