(Anonymous) 2018-02-06 04:44 am (UTC)(link)You know, I've never thought about it before, but I could actually see Rickman's portrayal of Snape that way. Obviously (before anyone gets on me about it) it's not the only interpretation and it wasn't Rickman's or the director's intent, but Snape in the movies does have a very, very deliberate and conscious style to his movement and speech, like he's thinking each step through in his head as he does it. That doesn't mean that what he does is necessarily logical or sensible or not weird, but I can absolutely see it as him not being able to interact with the world or with other people without consciously thinking through each step.
I don't necessarily agree with it, but if that's what the anon is talking about I can see where they're coming from.
