117. It makes me very sad when people who hate ten take it out on Tennant. He's a brilliant Doctor, just brilliant but they write 10 to be such a jerk. And Tennant makes it almost forgiveable. Almost. In fact, I thought I had forgiven him as of Planet of the Ood, until Journey's End. Poor Tennant. Why can't he come over here and do some awesome show over here when he's done?

119. IAWTC. Larger than life heroes who always win are a staple of human story telling and exist for a valid psychological purpose. As long as the stu is written in a realistic manner, deconstructed, or deliberately made over the top for the lulz, who cares if they're still a stu? I admit that RTD has a hard time telling if he wants to deconstruct the Doctor and Rose or just self-insert, though.

134. I'm not a fan of 10/Rose because she brings out the worst in 10, but she brings out the best in 9. Although the age difference bothers me a little, not because he's 900, but because she's 19. I mean, I was sort of leery about the 7 years between my boyfriend and me, and I was 20 when I met him. Anyone older than say, 22, dating a 19 year old is a little creepy, whether that guy is 29 or 900. Sounds like the OP shares my train of thought a little, but... nottttt really.

Tennant's adorable, don't get me wrong :D And I do LIKE Ten. But Nine was snarky and snarly and at times morally ambiguous, which was fascinating to watch. Ten has high morals but has a very "do as I say, not as I do" policy at times :|
But yeah. Ten is a jerk, and a bit of a child. Tennant makes him likeable regardless xD;

The whole point of the Doctor is to teach us about the thrills and spills about being human from an admiring outsider's perspective. How to be better people in general. To have this idolized and idealized alien to look up to. And I agree! If the adventures are engaging and if he's written well enough where I don't CARE that he's a Stu, who the fuck cares :|

I like Nine/Rose better because they snark xD; I'm a sucker for a good snarky relationship. Ten/Rose is too...purely fluffy at times. Nothing wrong with that, but it's not really to my taste much anymore. Nine/Rose has fluff, but also wit and sarcasm. I LOVED that ♥
...Honestly, the age thing doesn't really make me blink? Because I'm typically more worried about the interaction between characters before the technicalities like that. She's at an age where she's coming to know herself and what she wants, so I'm okay with it. And besides, it's fiction. A big age difference in real life will cause raised eyebrows until I'm sure of the sincerity of the relationship, but it doesn't matter much to me in fiction xD

I have mentioned before that I love you like mad, right? Because, y'know, I do. You're just so filled with right-ness.

I agree. And the fact that he's actually a likable one is really the accomplishment. He's like a christ figure that doesn't make me angry.
