110. IAWTS. I realized how crappy Tanemura as writer was when she made some bullshit happy ending for Full Moon and Gentleman's Alliance Cross became pretty boring that even the trap wasn't worth continuing reading for.

111. Why people think Kanda and Allen actually hate each other :/? They might not get along (although I have a feeling if Kanda was a bit less callous, Allen wouldn't have problem getting along with him), but they don't actually hate each other. If Kanda truly hated Allen, he wouldn't bother helping him in Matel when he usually leave his companions behind if they become a burden and ignore him. And Kanda was the first person Allen didn't use this polite gentleman's mask on like he did for the others until very recently.

112. Rule 63 makes every series automatic awesome. Seriously, dude.

114. Different stroke for different folks. And I'm no Kakashi/Iruka fan at all. I can kinda see from the personality compatibility respective and that their involvement with Naruto and that rare conversation about them is prolly the basis of the ship anyway,

116. Even if she wasn't there, Aerith made it pretty clear that she didn't see Cloud that way and only was interested in him because he reminded her of Zack. So there was other things than Tifa that sunk that ship.

You have a point there. They may not hate each other, but I still have a hard time understanding how I came to ship it. I never used to consider them like that, but then it just... happened?

111. The exclusion of honorifics shows disrespect if you don't know or aren't close to the person. So if anything, he didn't think Kanda deserved to be treated with respect. Might not equal hate, but seriously, Hoshino obviously wanted to drive the point home that Allen wasn't a fan of Kanda and vice-versa. Not an indication of a special relationship, there.

The same can't be said of Lenalee and Johnny, since it actually implies familiarity with a person when you drop honorifics after a certain amount of time being friends/close.

Guys around Allen and Kanda's age are generally less inclined to use honorifics with each other, so the honorific issue doesn't really work here, especially when Allen calls him by his last name, and that's not a sign of disrepect, calling him Yu would be. IIRC, Kanda doesn't use honorifics with his peers.

You right that Allen didn't respect him much in the beginning and that's why he dropped the excessive politeness with Kanda, but you can't tell me after the whole Matel incident that they truly have no respect for each other. Yes, Allen would not tolerate Kanda's bullshit, but most of his reactions to Kanda are usually reactionary, not out of true dislike.

Actually no. She was intrigued at first because he resembled Zack, but she was more interested in the real Cloud, hence the 'I want to meet you' line on the date.

Then of course, the novella came out and proved that Aerith was never that hot with Zack because she outright declined his flirtations, but...asjdfkljsadf

But agreed...Tifa is not exactly an obstacle for Cloud/Aerith. Frankly, I just wish the compilation would end already--how about some spotlight on the other parts of the franchise? Or better yet, put all the effort towards the newer games. -_-

But that scene made it feel somewhat non-romantic to me like she was trying to help Cloud more than anything and worked towards that until the end.

I haven't read the novella but even Aerith didn't respond to Zack, I don't think she didn't have any feelings for him. Besides, in the Advent Children, it looks like they reunited in the Lifestream and all.

The 'I want to meet you' line implies quite a bit more intimacy, but some of that appears to be lost when you translate it to English, y'know? I suppose it could be both, because she always was trying to help him--but she was also quite interested romantically as well.

It's not that she didn't have any feelings towards Zack--but rather grew out of her crush. She states explicitly in the novella that she loves Cloud much more than she had ever loved Zack, and rebuffs him when he flirts at her, basically telling him that someone who has been friendly with many women can never become a good lover. XD I'd feel bad for Zack, except he takes it in stride and seems to be doing the flirting thing more for old time's sake rather than seriousness.

The weird thing about the Lifestream though, is that Zack only woke up from the Lifestream when Aerith was remembering how Cloud walked and gestured--since those were the things Cloud had taken from Zack--Zack recognized the image and woke up--so the cameo at the end of AC was more to be there for Cloud after he finally lets go of his guilt, rather than to imply 'HAI THAR, I TOOK AERITH BACK, KTHXBAI'.
