Nah, there's no gay in Supernatural (at least not among the main three dudes), just a bunch of deeply emotional scenes and lines that could be read as gay (especially with yaoi goggles on). Personally, I love those scenes and that's one of the reasons I still watch it. Well, that and all the whump.

Makes sense.

I might give it another chance someday, but it was a slog the first time I tried (which was something like 7-8 years ago?) Also, given how the fandom ships, I had the expectation that it'd be a hell of a lot gayer than it was, but that's on me for getting my info from the type of ships and fanworks that exist, and not the source material itself. I could still stand to get better about that, lol.

Lol I started watching it because fandom convinced me it was super gay too, nonny. And it took me a while to get into it because the first three seasons (with the exception of a couple episodes) were pretty boring, but I really started enjoying it around season four . . . only to lose interest halfway through season seven. Seasons eight and beyond aren't too bad though. So yeah, if you've got time or just need to have some background noise on, go ahead and give it another shot.
