162. That's true- I can see that getting annoying, really! I don't usually think about it much, if only because my internal ideas about her characterization all center around, like, ONE fic I read once. Where she's figured out that something definitely off, definitely dangerous, is going on, that the people she loves and likes are all involved in something that can be really bad, but her big brother lies and her friends lie and everybody lies about it. And she's... okay with that. She wishes they could tell her, but until then, she'll pretend to believe them and do what she can when they need what she can do. It was a really neat look and I find myself unconsciously forgiving her for these things. XD; Which is maybe not the best reasoning ever, because fanfic =/= canon, but. It at least makes me think it could be justified?

And yeah, she's really childish and naive, but I don't think that's a bad thing, per se. If she knows something dangerous is going on, and Ryohei says "no, it's fine, we're just going to a SUMO MATCH, it's extreme!" it's... not like she could force the information out of him. And it wouldn't help to follow him, to get in his way, or force things and maybe make him unhappy/uncomfortable/make the situation worse. So all she can do is believe that he'll be okay and wait for him. Same with the others. I kind of like that outlook- even if it's not the best thing ever, it has its own strength, I think, an "I'll be here for you the way I can be, if I can't help, and I don't need you to explain if you won't do it."

I kind of really like Haru in the Future Arc- what little we see of her. XD I loved her scene with Tsuna! Actually, it was Haru and Kyoko's scenes with Tsuna in the Future Arc that made me happy with their characters. I think a lot of the problem is that Amano never really DOES anything with most of the female characters he introduces. I mean, I-Pin is really majorly kickass, but she shows up a LOT less than TYL!Lambo.

I DON'T KNOW I'M BLATHERING those are my two cents on Kyoko and the girls though. As for Tsuna, I'm not really disgusted by it. Tsuna shouldn't be keeping Kyoko in the dark, but he really does have the best intentions- he doesn't want to scare or worry her, doesn't want to say "people are hunting us down, we could all die, this place we're going to tomorrow we might never come back from- me, your brother, all the others..." He doesn't want to hurt her, he's just going the wrong direction to protect her. I do agree with him leaving her there, though. Unlike Lal and Bianchi and I-Pin (if I-Pin wasn't five years old right now), Kyoko and Haru have no idea how to fight. If the Millefiore might kill all of the Vongola and the ringbearers and all, taking Kyoko and Haru and the kids (including Fuuta! who lol gets forgotten a lot XD) into battle would be a death sentence. I'd almost be more annoyed that he didn't bring Bianchi, except I have a feeling that was entirely her choice on this one. XD AND AT LEAST, SUDDEN CHROME! *A*

A good fanfic writer can make you love any character. :P I think I could warm up to that spin on Kyoko.

I'm really bothered by Tsuna's treatment of Kyoko, in part, because it reminds me so much of his mother's relationship with his father. It's like... he runs out on her for no reason 90% of the time while she raises their son alone, and it just seems really awful and unfair, even though she's apparently happy about it? Kyoko really echoes that behaviour, and it makes me wonder what WOULD be worthwhile for her to protest about, when does she take a stand and what's important to her?

And Kyoko not knowing what's going on is putting her in danger - I mean, she runs out of the hideout looking to find her brother because she doesn't know that she's being targeted. But Tsuna is just letting that happen.

I mean, I'm not saying that Kyoko and Haru have to get involved in physically fighting, but they feel like add-ons since the Daily Life arc ended - they're not really relevant to the plot at all. I just want them to have SOME kind of role, whatever that may be.

More than anything, though, every time Kyoko or Haru shows up I'm reminded of how they're neglected and how the series is sexist in general and that makes me angry all on its own. >( If they're not onscreen, I can pretend it's not happening.
