That Christmas dinner! And how Almanzo has to wait and wait because everybody--absolutely everybody--is either older than he is, or company, so they get served first!

But really, all the food in the Little House books is made to sound delicious. Even if it's codfish gravy over potatoes, in The Long Winter--because everybody is so hungry.
