I hate receiving feedback for fic because it reminds me of writing things in school for marking, and I just want it to be a zero pressure fun thing.
Is it rude to turn commenting off? Opinions pls.

What kind of feedback is it? Sometimes I leave a little constructive criticism along the lines of, "I love how in-character everybody is and that was a great plot twist! Can't wait for the next chapter, but I must admit that suddenly switching from third person to first is a little distracting", but I only do that if the author specifically asks for criticism and I try to be nice about it. However, if you don't want that, it's totally fine to turn it off. You're mainly writing for yourself, after all, and you should enjoy the process.

It's totally fine to turn it off imo

"I hate winning the lottery."

That's nice. What does that have to do with OP's complaint?

Seriously?

The odds of winning the lottery are slim. Just like the odds of getting feedback on fic. And both things are generally considered favorable.

Yes, seriously.

OP isn't interested in feedback on fic. Therefore, the comparison doesn't work. Nobody plays the lottery hoping they don't win, otherwise they wouldn't play at all.

You being jealous of them getting feedback doesn't make it any less wanted.

That's like screaming at someone to eat something they won by being the right person to sit at a table in a mall food court because they sat there just because it's a rare thing, even though they're not fucking hungry and just sat down because it's reliable seating.

It's your business if you don't want feedback.

I think if you want to turn off commenting, that's your choice and nobody's business why you want it turned off.
