It is interesting to me that the moral masturbation in Marvel fandom this year seems obsessed with Valkyrie, and not Loki's attempted genocide, Thor's activities as an imperial strong-man, or the rest of the crew's serial murders, much less GotG where practically everyone is deliciously bad.

Maybe it's because the film didn't treat her slavery business like a bad thing and more for laughs whereas Loki is viewed as a villain who is always trying to backstab someone? Just a thought.

As for the GotG crew, I'm not sure who could be considered 'deliciously bad' except for maybe Gamora who was raised to become a killer and repeatedly abused by her 'father'.

I mean, they're all either thieves, murderers or both.

Just about everything is played for laughs in Thor3, with the moral balance reset when they (inadvertently) trigger a revolution.

Quill starts off a mercenary thief who doesn't mind blood in the process. Rocket is a sadist for the lols. Drax has a string of dead bodies in his background. Yondu was also a slaver, yet no one seems to regard that as a moral event horizon.

If you’re referring to how Yondu delivered Ego’s kids to him; when he found out what was going on he stopped and was exiled by his peers and ended up sacrificing himself to make up for what he did.

Well, Loki’s attempted genocide happened in the first movie, so people were wanking about it 7 years ago. But even so, I think most of fandom believe that the worse crime was the dude who when his child says he’ll kill all the Frost Giants, lectures him about not exposing Asgard to the horrors of war, not “genocide is bad” or “Frost Giants have the right to life”.
