I'd imagine whatever OP has written is "worse" than just embarrassing slash fic. Like hardcore kinks or whatever. I definitely wouldn't want my family and friends to know what porn I get off to.

John Hughes wrote Baby's Day Out. Is that what people associate with him? As a matter of fact he wrote a lot of movies that had nothing to do with the teen genre, but that isn't what he's usually known for. Sure some people know it, but mostly famous people get associated with the more famous things they wrote/made. And really, I think most people won't care about fanfic, at all.
