How welcoming is your particular niche of fandom?

Are you drowning in full on ship war waters? Do you wade in the calm tides of genfic? Are the MetaLands rough? Do you exist in the shunned lands of the self indulgent Planet You/OCxMC?

My fandoms are tiny. I live not in oceans but in puddles. I'm considering writing a fic for something which has no fic whatsoever. This is not a complaint. I choose to be in these fandoms. But I am definitely grateful for any comment I get.

Yay! Write the fic! (if you're so inclined, of course!). My fandoms aren't small, but my ships are, and I always love it when people post QUALITY (or at least try, I'm not gonna look a gift horse in the mouth) fic for my small ships that get no love. Lately I've been giving kudos, but I know comments are always nice, so I'll try to stop being lazy and comment. i hopoe you get at lkeast one comment, rosehip!

Aw, thank you! If I get a good idea for the fic I do want to write it.

Very welcoming, as long as you ship the one approved het ship in the approved way and accept all the fanon as entirely canon and do not question. Deviation will be laughed at and mocked and treated as though you are a lunatic.

That is fucking rough. I thought it was gonna be pleasant, but then you Stepford Wive'd it up after that comma.

Not too bad as long as you stay away from puppy wank.

It's okay, as long as you stick around the right people. But I ship an incest ship so I have to keep my fic and posts behind sockpuppets so that people don't know how sinful I am.

lol

I'm not sure my ships are as sinful, but they're certainly bottom of the barrel tastes (OC/"You") for some of fandom, which is apparently a mortal sin in some spaces of fandom. Plus they're het & the fandom I'm currently cruising has slash as major ships, which is fine, but I only care about "me"/MC (there's a pretty decent amount of fic for the MC I'm digging right now, but I have depleted their reserves with my voracious appetite).
