I guess I feel like I just don't expect actors and actresses to be especially political literate, slash, am not sure if that's a reasonable expectation. Maybe that's insulting to them, IDK.

And, then, the other thing is that animal rights is a genuinely good cause, being served by a mostly bad organization. So it's a little more complicated of a situation for someone to have to sort out. I'm sure PETA representatives can say tons of nice things about what they're doing for animals.

1. You do not have to be politically literate to use Google. It only takes a minute. If you're a rich celebrity, you can have someone do it for you even.

2. There are many other animal rights organizations one can support. PETA is not the only option. "Not supporting PETA because they do bad things" isn't that complicated. Lots of people manage to do it every day and they're not rocket scientists.

PETA is a well-known animal rights group, even if their misdeeds aren't as widely known. I doubt it would occur to someone to Google their reputability any more than it would occur to someone to Google the reputability of the Make-a-Wish Foundation.
