105. Okay, first Shatner, now Malkovich? Can't anybody post fantasy secrets about Maggie Gyllanhaal or Freema Agyeman?

122. Arrgh. I hate those.

136. Fucking CHEERS.

138. Lamp oil =/= personal lubricant, but otherwise, yeah, her stories are loads better than her art.

142. If you're reading children's comics, why are you surprised they're designed for children? Comparing Y to some shoujo sparkle fantasy book, or a series about zomg sporty high school kids is completely unfair. You're comparing Alan Moore to Scooby-Doo. Of course one is going to be more complex.

145. Of course it is. That's why so many of us love it.

Too Big 1. You need a different fandom, honey.

The OP didn't specify they were talking about manga for kids, did they?

142. The OP said that the manga they'd read had a single plot, carried over multiple volumes. That describes the majority of the children's manga I've read, and none of the adult manga.

I don't read children's manga, and I've seen both.

Okay, are you actually butthurt over this, or are you just naturally terse? Because yeah, I'm sure there are manga and anime series out there aimed at adults that are every bit as trite and single-dimensional as the kiddie sparkle shit - that goes for any form of media, anywhere - but in my observations, Shonen Jump-style power-up-'til-the-shark-jumps-you single-concept storylines tend to occur much more frequently in comics aimed at kids, than in comics aimed at more mature markets. Hence my assumption.

...Sorry, I didn't realize I sounded like I was upset. I'm not.

Shonen Jump-style power-up-'til-the-shark-jumps-you single-concept storylines

*snicker* Wow, I found that way too amusing. It's so true. So true.

her stories are loads better than her art.

which isn't saying much.
