I would mostly just call it a good decision

But if they still had Terrence Howard Rhodey, Terryology would have been a bigger thing. And I'd love to see Marvel try to deal with that.

Terryology?

(Anonymous) 2018-02-22 12:15 am (UTC)(link)
Terrence Howard claims to have invented a new system of logic by which 1 x 1 = 2, which he calls Terryology.

also, he most likely has serious mental health issues and has had a number of legal problems often concerned with domestic violence allegations

If they'd kept him, Marvel might have found themselves dealing with legal or insurance issues in the future. They can't have a loose canon like that around what's supposed ot be an attempt at a kid safe franchise.

*cannon*. Loose *cannon*. Sorry, it's late.

Their canon is often a bit sloppy too.

(Anonymous) 2018-02-22 12:10 am (UTC)(link)
Well, he was the weak point of IM1, to be honest.

(Anonymous) 2018-02-22 12:17 am (UTC)(link)
I somehow managed to see IM2 before the first one and I was super disappointed that Don Cheadle was not Rhodey in that one. I just like him a lot better.

Not surprised.

I think Terrence Howard is a good actor, but the man seems to have some rather serious issues, not the least of which is domestic violence.

(Anonymous) 2018-02-22 12:35 am (UTC)(link)
Isn't that standard operation for Hollywood, though? Awkward casting changes aren't really discussed in public. In Terrence Howard's case, there's definitely some sort of undiagnosed mental illness going on as well.

Well, IM1 Rhodey is just Rhodey, and i imagine people who are writing IR1 fic can imagine him as Don Cheadle or not, whatever floats their boat.

But the man was fired for being a dick, as far as i know, and seems to have some serious issues. It's not like his 'interpretation' of the character was so wildly different that Rhodey from IM1 and Rhodey from IM2 seem like completely different people....

Not sure what you want from fandom or Marvel, to be honest.....

Don Cheadle forever though I've nothing against IM1 Rhodey.
