Wolverine is and has always been overplayed, yeah, both in movies and in basically every other medium. But at the same time, how many interesting X-Men stories are left to make movies about *without* Wolverine?

Plenty? There are so many characters I find more interesting than Wolverine in X-Men. His mutation is one of the least interesting to me.

But a mutation, or a character, isn't a story. At most those are hooks for a story.

The sad thing for me is that Wolverine has one of the most interesting mutations for me. Healing powers? Always been something I've wanted to see in fiction. I just find him really uninteresting as a character.

I think peak Wolverine was about 10 years ago when Marvel editorial's solution to any problem was a fastball special: throw Wolverine at it:

* Avengers is getting stale? Put Wolverine in it.
* How do we promote Runaways? Put Wolverine in it.
* X Force? Wolverine cameo.
* Need to fill a slot? Run yet another Wolverine origin story or AU.

(To be fair, DC was doing the same thing with Batman at the time.)

True, although I wouldn't mind seeing Hugh Jackman again. Because the only thing that could be more fabulous than Kevin Bacon in a James Bond submarine would be Hugh Jackman in a James Bond submarine. (Alas, Kevin Bacon in a James Bond submarine is the only fabulous thing about First Class.)

I love Wolverine in every format but I'm ready for him to sit out of the movies for a good long while, maybe permanently. Too many solo movies and too much character assassination of other characters in the ensemble films.

I haven't watched the last few X-Men movies, even though they're my favorite heroes. I don't like the casting.

Logan was great and it was a nice ending for Wolverine. I hope they don't ruin it and bring him back. An X-23 movie would be nice though.

Ugh, Logan. Logan was a nice ending for him at the expense of everyone else. Killing off all the other mutants so Wolverine could have more angst and another story all about him. What a terrible idea.

I like the character a lot, but I think some of the movies have treated him really bad. A waste of potential.
