Or maybe it's just a book that you don't like and other people do.

It makes me giggle that someone read that secret, got so butthurt that they decided stating the obvious would TOTALLY teach the OP a lesson.

OP is saying that the book only got awards because of SJ stuff. I agree with you, personally. I think it should be obvious that maybe the reason that it got awards is because people other than OP thought it was a good book, rather than for political reasons. But it doesn't look to me like OP agrees with that.

Well, no. The secret says OP thinks the book wouldn't have gotten as many nominations if it hadn't been for the whole Puppy debacle. And that may well be true because the whole campaign was to game the system and fill the nomination slots with their own picks... which, not surprisingly, people opposed to the Puppies objected to and did not want to cooperate with. I don't know how the nomination process works for the Hugos and Nebulas. But once Goblin Emperor got on the voting ballot, there were probably people who voted for it because at least it wasn't a Puppy vote.

That only applies to one award though, the Hugos. It doesn't matter for any of the other awards where Goblin Emperor was nominated.
