Not me. Fry was such a man child that even his best efforts to act like an adult were embarrassingly below standard. I hate it when media does that... pairs a sub par man child with a smart, capable woman and acts like this is ideal.

Fry was kind and loyal. Sometimes that's worth more than smart.

Generally speaking, that can be true. Unfortunately, Fry's problem isn't just that he's not smart (that isn't what I was referring to by the term "man child"), but that he's also extremely immature, inconsiderate and selfish and for me, those traits far outweigh his kindness or loyalty.

he's also a total wimp who just accepts being abused, one big reason I never liked that show.

I mean, you're right, Fry definitely has those traits, but they aren't ALL he is. Whether he has too much of that for a person to be able to stand is up to that individual person.

I love SO MANY things about why they get together. I loved that Fry always accepted Leela exactly as she was, violent tendencies and all. I loved that he tried to be a better person for her (succeeding sometimes and failing others). I love that he allowed her not to be as tense and uptight so she could learn to relax and enjoy herself. I loved that he didn't even blink at her being a mutant. I loved that when they got together, it made them both happy.

No relationship is perfect. But I really wanted them both to be happy. Futurama, despite the fact that it's a comedy, has some dark and sad parts to it, and in the midst of a deep depression that this show helped me get through, Fry and Leela finding happiness meant a lot to me.
