(Anonymous) 2018-02-25 04:21 am (UTC)(link)Haha. Yes! Some science-fiction movies especially are like "they're on earth. now they're in space. now they're 500 years in the future. now there's a moment of possible sexual tension but I don't actually know who that girl is. now they're all dead."
I understand why there are so many companion novels that follow on from those movies now. They leave people very unsatisfied in terms of explanations.
I think I find the less dramatic and tense parts of a story just as interesting sometimes as the big plot points too. I would have been happy to watch hours of little moments in Harry Potter because I loved reading about all the different lessons and things.
