Yeah I didn't overly have a problem with any of the JP/JW kids to be honest, but the fact that the JW kids' parents expected Claire to drop her work the entire time the kids were at the park and that line about her eventually having kids of her own just got me the wrong way.

I mean, she's working. She made arrangements so that they weren't unsupervised and could take advantage of the better parts of the park.

Yup. Didn't bother me that they didn't understand she had to work, because some parents really don't get that not everyone can drop everything for their kids. It bothered me that they were portrayed as right.

To be fair, the JW kids' parents were going through what looked like an ugly divorce. It wasn't like they dumped their kids on Claire for shits and grins. It wouldn't be unreasonable to hope that your sister would spend more time with the nephews she doesn't see very often even under ordinary circumstances, but during a family crisis? Yeah.

That said, I think the film was crap about Claire's job and telegraphed some ridiculously archaic notions about women who prefer careers to having babies.

Okay but family crisis or not, this was a huge career event and they should have known she couldn't just drop her job just because of that. The fact they expected her to because she was a woman was awful.
