another commenter mentioned Wakanda as a utopia, and i think there's a fundamental tension there

how do you have a utopian dream for the black identity that is untouched by the degradation of colonialism and slavery when the black identity begins through those massive cultural traumas?

and the movie is about THAT as a question about black identity on a meta-level as much as it is about 'what about helping africa with vibranium' on a plot level
