I find this rather... enlightening. I'd gotten some feelings like that, but I was never sure if it was because of my instinctive "D:" over her or not...

Your instinctive (and seriously legitimate, who does things like pile on a new commenter?) "D:" aside, at least two of us feel this way. I've come to the conclusion over a couple of years that she's not a very nice person, mainly in a way that has to do with her never thinking about other people before she opens her mouth. So yes, I feel somewhat hypocritical and mean saying this (which is why, you know, anon-ing here), but not getting to know her is probably a good choice.

See, I felt sort of bad badmouthing somebody who, after all, I don't really know. Thing is, I do know someone who I believe is her pretty close friend, and that person is insanely nice and not elitist at all. So I thought, maybe she's really not so bad?
I sort of haven't run into her personally that much, anyway, being as I'm kind of shy online, and tend to lurk a bit. ...and mostly steer clear of her posts.
I now feel a bit bad at feeling vindicated by what you're saying... though it'll probably help me just forget about the whole thing and move on, now. Closure and whatnot. So, thanks <3

She has decent taste in friends, definitely... but even really nice people can get close to people who are less wonderful than they are, yeah? And it's not like she's a horrible person, either - more thoughtless than anything else in my opinion, like she doesn't or can't be bothered to understand that not everyone knows what her opinions are or agrees with her. Lovely person so long as you agree with her, really. That kind of person isn't really my cup of tea, though, if you know what I mean, and isn't someone I'd encourage anyone to get to know.
