It's not much fun if you are invested in the fandom. I don't care if Reylo does or doesn't become canon but the vitriol has infected non-Reylo discussion too. I suppose the whole movie was 'Reylo' to some extent, in people either loving or hating it with passion. Both sides use so much incendiary language to rile each other up, so it's ripe for trolls because both sides have had bad interactions that make them trigger-happy to take arguments in bad faith or to just yell at each other. (IME)

I would be happy to go back to my HP days. I never saw a hint of the ship wars. I kept in my own corner and it was much more enjoyable.
