My favourite ever fic was orphaned. I understand why it might be orphaned, it was an incest fic and everyone in it was fucked up, but it was written so well and you could really feel all the pain and the agonisingly slow train wreck was captivating. I just… I wish it hadn’t been orphaned so I could tell the author how much I loved it and how I’m rereading it over and over. I also wish this damn purity culture blew over so I could just talk openly about how much I love the fic without being yelled at.

If the author of 'Family Never Ends' is out there: I love you! Thank you!

fwiw, I'm probably not the only author who looks in on my orphaned fics from time to time, so I say leave your love on the fic just in case.

As someone who got a lot of anon hate from antis, if you want to prevent that happening in the future, I recommend you try to message your favorite writers to show your support. When you get more anon hate that comments it's really easy to get discouraged. A few of my fandom friends have started deleting or orphaning their stories, and I personally have stopped posting mine.

I'm not the OP but ffs, people can enjoy fiction about dark topics that deal with the emotions and complexities of a situation without approving and supporting it in real life. For all you know OP could be a victim or someone who's family was affected by incest and they want to read about something to work through their feelings about it.

but then again your response shows that you're so immature you only know how to respond to this in one way and you can't imagine how someone can read about a dark subject without approving of it because you can't and clearly you and your feelings are in your mind the benchmark for normal.

it is a bit funny. i like incestfic, though i don't recall ever writing it, and it seems like the ODDEST FIC TO FOCUS YOUR HATRED ON -- it's so clearly fantasy; no reader is SUDDENLY going to have a real-life sibling POP UP up and BOND with them. (i also don't think we should pitchfork the writers of non-con fic, but at least sexual violence is more of a reality that may scare or disturb the haters.)

On the one hand, nice to know there are other fans of such fics.

On the other, this particular one is Homestuck. :\ Which I am not a huge fan of because of the unfuckingwieldy canon and some other weird shit that goes on in the canon.
