(Anonymous) 2018-03-03 12:36 am (UTC)(link)I wouldn't feel it's accurate to call the people talking about their perfect kawaii anime waifus to be not part of fandom as a whole.

(Anonymous) 2018-03-03 12:43 am (UTC)(link)So there's a bunch of different groups that we can be talking about here. If we're talking about interracial kink as understood in society at large, then I would say that predominantly - at least in the US - that involves the fetishization of black men. If we're talking about kawaii-waifu anime fandom specifically, then yes, the most frequent fetishization is of Asian people (although not all of kawaii-waifu fandom is specifically about fetishizing based on race)(obviously some of it is, just not all). And if somebody mentions "interracial kink" in the context of shippy-fandom generally, I think it's not a unreasonable assumption to default to the general societal usage of the term. I guess.
My conclusion here is that language sucks.

(Anonymous) 2018-03-03 01:24 am (UTC)(link)I just wanted to point out, when it is fandom, it's not a "fandom men from 4chan" only thing. I've seen plenty of fic authors in "female-dominated" animanga fandom writing fic that fetishizes Japanese people/culture for example.
