For fanfic, I am reading a sugar daddy Peter/Stiles fic. I am really enjoying it.

For books, I am reading The Rise and Fall of the Third Reich. I just started it and I am not sure if I like it.

Interesting! What made you choose it / why aren't you liking? If you don't mind me asking.

It is very dry. I was looking for a bit more interesting book. I've been listening to Hardcore History and wanted something similar but about WWII. I have a huge list of recommendations to go through. :D

Hmmm, yeah, that is a pretty massive field to try to look for recs in!

My one piece of advice for World War 2 history is: if anyone says that the Panther was a better tank than the T34, one, they're wrong, and two, you should be skeptical of anything else that they say

The harder search was for books about the Holocaust that are not just about one person.

Subtitle: The Teen Classics We Never Stopped Reading; A Reading Memoir

It's interesting to be reminded of books I read as an adolescent and teen and also to see someone else's perspective on them, even if I don't totally agree with how they see things.

Star Wars Dark Disciple

It's okay but it's not holding my interest enough for me to pick it back up once I've put it down.

The Apprentice by Rick Pullen. It's a mystery/thriller type thing about a fictionalized Hillary Clinton who chose a fictionalized Donald Trump as VP and he becomes president because she's assassinated (not really a spoiler, it's how the book starts off). Right after the assassination, a bunch of weird conspiracy-esque things start happening and the main character (a reporter) tries to figure out what's going on.

Also, Our Destiny Is Blood by Clare Daly. Takes place in the late 1800s, in Ireland, Siberia and New York, with two different sibling pairs (one of the four has magical powers), and a prison warden dude who feeds the prisoners to this vampire/monster creature who lives under the prison. It's...weird but I guess somewhat interesting.

I started reading Garth Nix's Sabriel after picking up the ebook cheap, as I've seen Abhorsen / Old Kingdom prompts in Yuletide year after year.

Towing Jehovah by James K Morrow. It's good so far. Weird but in a way that really works for me.

The Lord of Castle Black by Steven Brust and A Long Fatal Love Chase by Louisa M. Alcott. Both rereads, both good (if you have a taste for ALFLC's melodrama).

Le Guin's Dispossessed and Stiefvater's Raven Boys. And some short stories.

Both are good.

DW novels and it's been a mixed pile.

I'm starting to get into the novels a bit more. Which ones are good to read and which ones should I avoid in your opinion?
