I feel like I'd be a lot better off (financially and emotionally) if I had some of the mental and emotional health issues I see people vent about on social media. "I base my entire self worth on how hard I work/my grades" for instance.

Are you saying you don't have any significant mental health issues or that the ones you do have suck more?

Is it because you feel guilty, like you don't have the right to have those kinds of problems unless there's a health reason behind them? Because that's the vibe towards mentally healthy people that a lot of people who vent about their health issues give off. But as someone who also has those health issues, no, it really doesn't work that way. Having mental health problems only makes your regular mental and emotional problems worse.

You wouldn't be. Nervous breakdowns aren't cheap, and experiencing suicidal ideation because you got passed over for a promotion or scored less than 100% on an exam isn't emotionally fulfilling.
