(Anonymous) 2018-03-04 06:23 am (UTC)(link)How I'm interpreting the person you're replying to, they pronounced it with the emphasis on the second syllable. Which is weird, but whatever...the thing I'm confused by is why someone would pronouce "lek" as "lick". Why not "leck" rhyming with deck? E and I are clearly pronounced differently.

I know that in some Midwestern US dialects, short e and short i can get confused. Also, maybe the actors in the episodes anon saw weren't stressing the second syllable enough for "eck" to be clear, and it came across as a schwa?
