No, more of Tumblr is objectively hot garbage than isn't. The internet would be vastly improved by its deletion.

Huh, weird. I'm on tumblr but not for fandom and the garbage content on my dash is close to zero. It's almost as if you can choose what you follow...

I think this is where most people get hung up. If you go to a fair and you say the food sucks because you didn't like eating the deep fried twinkies - but you keep eating and hanging around the deep fried twinkies pavilion where there's a perfectly good funnel cake stand just a row down -

that's your own damn fault.

You're responsible for your tumblr dash. If you see a lot of junk you don't like - that's your own damn fault. Or, if you're there to rubberneck the trashfires, you don't get to sit around and complain that the only things on any site are trashfires. You're there, you set up your chair and umbrella, if that's all you see that's on you.

and now I'm hungry and want to watch fireworks in a lawn chair.

No, tumblr is full of junk, scammers, and assholes. You have to dig really fucking deep to find any pearls, and I'm sorry, but I don't see how that's worth the effort. Same as twitter. Same as facebook. Same as youtube comments. Microbloging and a massive spread of misinformation makes these sites suck. That, and art thieves. And ads. And "debate." And "discourse." And everyone's collective maturity level being about twelve years old.

One way of taking responsibility? Delete the fucker! Why not? It's a perfectly viable solution. I know my anxiety level went way the fuck down when I got rid of it. Maybe it's not right for everyone, but it's super effective for others!
