Nice.

Also that is a super cool font.

If Dogma is anything to go by, he comes off as a believer to me. In the movie, he was only questioning how the church is handling this religion business. He was really respectful of Jesus, IMO. But I'm an atheist, so maybe I didn't "read" it right. Some religious people were really offended by that movie, because... uh, I don't understand why, really.

By praying you want good things for him, so good for you. It really doesn't matter what your personal beliefs (or lack there of) are. If you have a Twitter or Facebook or anything, send him some love! There's never too much of that to go around. In the video he made in the hospital, he seemed really touched by the immense amount of love people sent him. :')

I know a bunch of ultra Catholics who love that movie. The loudest Catholic voices against it were groups like the USCCB, which, well. They're kind of the butt of the joke, so dignity, sacrilege, blah, blah, blah. A bunch of fundie Protestants hated it because it mixed religion with a bunch of things that they already hate, like women and black people and Catholics.

Um... Unless something happened after I stopped following his movies and career (shortly after Clerks 2), he's Catholic and that religion is a huge part of his life and who he is. This is mostly based on him repeatedly saying that he was a practicing Catholic in interviews and such, went to mass every Sunday, he prayed and lit prayer candles, and the fact that Catholic characters and other characters who were "raised Catholic" make up a huge part of the cast.

It's a really nice secret regardless. I'm glad I got to read it today. Good job.

That's sweet, OP. I'm sure he would appreciate your thoughts.

It's a kind gesture no doubt but... what does praying actually mean if you're an atheist?

(Anonymous) 2018-03-09 01:17 am (UTC)(link)
It means making a kind gesture formatted in a way that the person you're thinking about would find meaningful, even if you yourself don't find it meaningful.

(Anonymous) 2018-03-09 12:38 pm (UTC)(link)
You're a real nice person, OP. I hope he gets better too (I don't know who he is, but hey).

(Anonymous) 2018-03-09 04:22 pm (UTC)(link)
Praying for others is not a nice thing to do, because you are actually saying that you think that they are going to hell. Fuck off and go to hell yourself, OP. *flipping you a thousand birds*
